real time (as opposed to turn based) firing phase.

Post by Marte » Thu Jan 05, 2012 10:02 pm

Coming back after a few years, I'm slightly amused by the amount of time a single match takes on average. I think optional rules to speed up the average game could benefit the growth of this community without substantially changing the nature of the game.

Would it be possible to code an optional rule to allow for all firing to be declared at once by each player, without switching turns between players? Arrows would appear as each mech was done, but turns would automatically switch only after all of a player's units had finished firing.

Same thing for physical attacks phase.

Apologies if this has already been debated.

code exists, but is unused on MMNet because it's not battletech. other servers make use of this. beware of the bugs it brings.
When the injustice is great enough, Justice will lend me the strength needed to correct it.
None may stand against it.
It will shatter every barrier, sunder any shield, tear through any enchantment and lend its servant the power to pass sentence.
Know this: there is nothing on all the Planes that can stay the hand of justice when it is brought against them.
It may unmake armies. It may sunder the thrones of gods.
Know that for ALL who betray Justice, I am their fate... and fate carries an Executioner's Axe.

go to game options before the deployment
go to initiative options
swith on simultainious fire declaration

Same can be done at the same way for arty declaration and physicals

Best regards

P.S.: both player need to agree on that and some bugs are reported so better use cautiously
