Guidelines for the Wiki/Doc Workteam

Post by Tuco »

Team leader: Major Frantic. He's the only responsible for this team's work. He picks his team members, he presents the team's results to admins.

Here the guidelines for this work team:

o) Edit the wiki at will. Don't be afraid to experiment. Feel free to ask me questions about how it works and what you can/can't do. Hint: split the workload and start reviewing all the pages for blatant errors and/our outdated information.

o) Remember to ALWAYS stick to the facts, and avoid opinions unless clearly marked as such, with your game/forum username.

o) Be clear, explicit, write in good english and remember that not anyone is a native english speaker. Avoid at all costs spelling and grammar errors.

o) Add actual snapshots (if possible) when detailing game UI.

o) Eliminate numeric references when you're not sure about the correctness. Check for correctness directly on game, of you can't access the data, with me.

o) Always edit the articles while logged in with your name. If you want, create a small bio of yourself in the provided Users category.

o) Use abundant linking, especially to game rules, relevant announcements, other wikipages, external resources, etc.

o) Remember that only forum accounts in the "wiki" usergroup are allowed to edit the pages.
When the injustice is great enough, Justice will lend me the strength needed to correct it.
None may stand against it.
It will shatter every barrier, sunder any shield, tear through any enchantment and lend its servant the power to pass sentence.
Know this: there is nothing on all the Planes that can stay the hand of justice when it is brought against them.
It may unmake armies. It may sunder the thrones of gods.
Know that for ALL who betray Justice, I am their fate... and fate carries an Executioner's Axe.

If you can enter this forum, then I've added you to the wiki group, which should give you editing rights on the current wiki.

If you go to http://mmnet.dynathome.net/mediawiki, you'll find the original wiki. For any page, you can click on the "view source" tab, and pull the information that would need to be added to the current wiki at http://www.mekwars.org/wiki

Mentawl has been promoted to the Wiki group leader. He can add people as they volunteer and are approved (by him).

This can now be considered solved. The auth package is problematic, but on the new wiki (replacing the wiki this is referring to) I have it functioning properly.
