Factions Page

Here's what I have for the faction's page so far. I haven't had a lot of time to perfect it yet, but I wanted to get something on the page so you guys could see it.

My goal so far is just to explain the fluff background of the different factions. I'm hoping to later add some information about the different kinds of units (mechs particularly) that each faction produces.

Also, I'm 100% sure how accurate what I've written is. I was trying to think of some short hand ways to explain the different faction's (fluff) cultures without trying to make one or the other feel more desirable. If you guys have some corrections or some additional information that needs to be in there I'm very open to ideas.

I haven't written an intro or anything for the Periphery faction yet. I'm still thinking about how to tackle those bits (again open to ideas).



P.S. I was trying to figure out how to link images. I was going to try to embed the house emblem for each faction, but I wasn't able to do it using the buttons in the wiki interface. Any body know how I can do this?

I would also consider linking to the Sarna page for added detail; I also added a bit of a header explaining what effect factions had on gameplay.

Nice work. I don't know if you want to have more subheadings here or not. We don't need to reinvent the wheel. A link out to Sarna is a good idea.

Do you plan on pages for each faction with more MMnet info? Tables, discussion of game economy, bays etc?

Periphery: the periphery is a term for those small nations that exist outside of the main sphere of human habitation. While these are separate nations within the Battletech world, they are treated as a single entity within MMNet.
These small nations are often referred to as "Pirates" however, many are just smaller states . The Periphery functions as the other factions do, they are different only in that their nation is not a single contiguous entity, but spread across the entire campaign map.


Don't forget the Mercenary faction too.

Thanks for the text on the P, Ogre. I'll paste that on the page as soon as I get a second.

I think I'm also going to reduce the amount of fluff info a bit, and beef-up the MMNet-oriented information.

For example I'm going to talk a bit about the iconic mechs associated with each faction and perhaps talk about the economic differences between the different factions (FS and LC have tons of bays and components, CC and P have tight economies where resource management is much more difficult).

That said, it's come to my attention that economics may be revised considerably this coming cycle, so I'll hold of until I hear back on that front.

I spent much of the day improving my wiki-fu. Learned how to upload images and use tables for formatting.

I also learned that I had (perhaps incorrectly) made the Factions page a 'category.' I've now created a factions page instead. Here's the link:
