Re: Agenda
So Spork Listed the things we need to work on. I didn't look very closely as to what might be out there in the forums that might be used as a seed for articles. Nor did I look in the Dev suggestion forum to add or modify this, I would like to see that done by whomever takes on a particular article.
1. Rules, Factions, Operations, Terrains.
Rules: Post the Manifesto and Special Rules. Clarify any that might seem ambiguous (we can't clarify, Mentawl can)
List any Optional Rules we use by default in the games.
Factions:
History (use info from CGL but not word for word, our own paraphrasing might be more meaningful)
Geographc Position
Mekwars Info: Factory Worlds, Bay Worlds
Common Units:
Build tables.
Current Leadership.
Introduction to the Faction by an elected leader or longtime faction player
Any Guides, advice or articles the Faction wants to provide.
Operations:
This is going to take a bit. We have a good start with the info posted in the wiki and in the forums, but it needs a good bit of fleshing out.
Discussion of player status: Solaris, Regular Commander, Frontline Commander (without understanding these, detailing the ops make little sense)
Solaris:
Purpose of the Status
Capabilities: Operations able to be played, units available, interface options
Limits:
Duration of Status:
A Link to an article on how to launch Tutorials: (Which may be written somewhere)
Regular:
Purpose of the Status
Capbilities: Operations able to be played, units available, interface options
Limits:
Duration of Status:
Link to Regular commander Ops
Frontline:
Purpose of the Status
Capbilities: Operations able to be played, units available, interface options
Limits:
Duration of Status:
Link to Frontline commander Ops
On the ops themselves organize them by what level of commander can play them
Strategic vs. Milita ops (Mostly done, could probably add some more info)
Each op could be marked if it is open to Strategic and Militias or not.
Solaris:
Tutorial
Flight Sim
Regular:
Tutorial
Flight Sim
Patrol
Overwatch
Aero Patrol
Hit and Run (assuming it survives the new campaign)
Kingslayer (described as in defense only with 2000+ exp)
Frontline:
Pillage
Plunder
Tutorial
Flight Sim
Patrol
Overwatch
Aero Patrol
Conquer
City Conquer
Superops (List each for the factions and what we know about how to launch them)
Orbital Operation
Black Water Navy
Kingslayer
Tournaments:
Cruiser Tourney
Destroyer Tourney
Terrains: Descriptions of all the possible map types and what might be found there
A List of all terrain types and the game effects (watch not to plagarize CGL or if you are going to, source it)
Discussion on Buildings. Explanation of CF. Explanation of Building effects on movement, standing on them, collapsing them, basements.
So... that's the first round. I need to finish going through the suggestions, that might adjust our list here. Frankly, pick something in a category and get at it. Preferably something early in any given section.
I will raid the Fed Suns forum when we get to game mechanics stuff, but I will be happy to take anything anybody can find on one of these subjects that isn't copyrighted.

Re: Agenda
I copypasta'd the Op data from the forum over to the Wiki but didn't do much else with it since I expect it to change again as the new campaign kicks off. As more pages develop, we can crosslink back and forth (i.e. from the page explaining Commander statuses to the Operations page and so on.
I did a write up for Installation, and will probably pursue "Getting Started" this week as well.
I've just been clicking on existing red links (links with no pages) and getting those filled out. I'll leave the overall re-organization and layout of the Wiki to others.

Re: Agenda
I can take the section on factions.
What length and level of detail do we think is appropriate?
I was thinking about a smallish level of fluff and then the rest explains the in-game differences between the factions (how some have more bays than other, particular mechs associated with the different factions, etc.). I'll make it all basically original, so no copyright issues.
I'd also like to link some artwork for the different factions. I'm fuzzy on how careful I need to be about copyrights on artwork, however. Is it ok to link art I find on somplace like Sarna.net?

Re: Agenda
Sarna uses a lot of official artwork. I am not sure about the potential issues. It would probably be ok if we cited the original source. Not sarna, but book the artwork appeared in.
If you have some more or different ideas, work something up. The worst thing we can do is ask for more or something different.
As long as we put out quality work, what we do will be better than what we have.

Re: Agenda
Ok Boys, we got a week give or take a couple of days. Let's get some more content. Playing is fun, but a little work now will help us have some nice stuff ready for the cycle.
