Android & iOS

Out of curiosity, has anyone got MegaMek working on Android and/or iOS? This is important piece of information when I recommend game to other people.

While there is a java version for android i don't think it will run.

The closest you will come to doing it is via remote desktop application. (windows pc + remote desktop app on phone)

the problem is the resolution on a phone (tablet will still be hard to read) and it will be clunky to do with a touch system emulating the mouse.)

also another problem for the average user is using the remote desktop client while not on the same network as the pc hosting the software..

it's not impossible but it's not easy and it's clunky. i think the client would have to be specifically written for android or IOS to make it work right.

IMHO the future of games like this would be phone/tablet. However; the sheer complexity of the game is probably the biggest hurdle for attracting anyone to play it, regardless of platforms available to play it on.

Somewhat off topic: If there was a "lite" version of MMN (even more basic than the first McWizard builds) I think that might grab some additional players, who may try the bigger campaign.

I just set up remote desktop on a chrome book to be able to play this. It was fairly easy.

Cheap Logitech wireless mouse. But I don't think that would help with an ipad.
