New Cycle Operations
Contents |
There are two Main Groups of Operations for the New Cycle: Operations for Conquer Factions and Operations for Non-Conquer Factions. Counter-Operations against Non-Conquer Factions will be described in the second Group as well. Additionally, there are General Operations and Team Operations.
Starting with Operations for Conquer Factions, these are divided into subgroups defined by the subfaction settings of this server. Higher Subfactions have access to all operation types if they only meet the requirements for the specific ops, such as bv-spread or speed requirements. Lower Subfactions cannot access Higher Subfaction Operations.
Conquer Faction
Garrison Commanders
Subfaction 1 has access to four different Operations against other Conquer Factions
Patrol:
This is a basic Operation for Planets without Factories and involves a small land exchange. To get access to Patrol your army must range from 2000-6000 bv, must have 4 non-Infantry units (2 meks) which are less than 85tons and have either walking speed 4 or can jump 2. The bv spread is 650 maximum.
Scout:
This is a basic Operation for Planets containing Factories with the exception of Capitol Planets and involves a small landexchange. To get access to Scout your army must range from 1500-6000 bv, must have 4 non-Infantry units (1 mek) which are less than 85tons and have either walking speed 5 or can jump 5. The bv spread is 650 maximum. For high bv Scouts the landexchange is increased. For any won Scout, the defending party gains a small amount of components.
Hit'n'Run:
This is a basic Operation for Planets containing Factories with the exception of Capitol Planets and involves a small land exchange. To get access to Hit'n'Run your army must range from 2000-6000 bv, must have 4 non-Infantry units (1 mek) which are less than 85tons and have either walking speed 5 or can jump 4. The bv spread is 650 maximum. The winner of a Hit'n'Run either delays the target factory for a short time or refreshes it for the same value.
Bonus Operations
Overwatch: This is an operation similar to Patrol with the following additions: it is AFR-only, double-blind and the attacker receives a small amount of artillery while the defender gets to place some conventional mines.
Sentry: This is an operation similar to Patrol with the following modifications: you may target factory planets but have to use pilots with a skillsum of 8 or lower
Regular Commanders
Conquer Faction Subfaction 2 has access to an additional six different Operations against other Conquer Factions:
Pillage:
This is a raid Operation for Planets containing Factories with the exception of Capitol Planets and involves land exchange. To get access to Pillage your army must range from 2000-9000 BV, must have 4 non-Infantry units (2 meks) but no more than 2 vehicles. The bv spread is 800 maximum. Winning a Pillage attack delays the factories, steals a decent amount of components and 1-2 units from the faction bays. Winning a Pillage defense grants components to the factories.
Sabotage:
This is a raid Operation for Planets containing Factories with the exception of Capitol Planets and involves land exchange. To get access to Sabotage your army must range from 2000-9000 bv, must have 4 non-Infantry units (1 mek) but no more than 4 vehicles. The bv spread is 800 maximum. Winning a Sabotage attack badly delays the factories and steals a mediocre amount of components. Winning a Sabotage defense decently refreshes the factories.
Capture:
This is a raid Operation for Planets containing Factories with the exception of Capitol Planets and involves land exchange. To get access to Capture your army must range from 2000-9000 bv, must have 4 non-Infantry units (2 meks) but no more than 2 vehicles which can at least walk 5 or jump 3. The bv spread is 800 maximum. Capture grants artillery pieces for support to both sides. Winning a Capture attack steals some components and a unit from the faction bays as well as a unit(s) from the target factory. Winning a Capture defense refreshes the factory a bit and generates a good amount of components.
Intercept:
This is an invasion operation for all planets but capitols and involves a mediocre amount of land exchange. To get access to Intercept your army must range from 4000-12000 bv and have 4 non-Infantry units (1 mek) which can at least walk 5 or jump 4. The bv spread is 800 maximum. A beachhead of 10 control points on the target planet is required and your pilots must have a skillsum of 8 or lower.
Strategical Invasion:
This is an invasion Operation for Planets without Factories and involves a decent amount of land exchange. To get access to Strategical Invasion, your army must range from 2000-10000 bv and have 4 non-Infantry units (1 mek). The bv spread is 900 maximum. This operation involves Artillery support for both sides.
Bonus Operations
Plunder: This is an Operation similar to Pillage with the following additions: it is AFR-only, double-blind and always takes place in cities.
Backwater Inroad: This is an Operation similar to Strategical Invasion with the following additions: it is AFR-only, double-blind and has a chance for deep deployment zones.
Vigilant Strike: This is an operation similar to Strategical Invasion with the following modifications: attacking costs are reduced and salvage for attacker is increased but you have to use pilots with a skillsum of 8 or lower.
Frontline Commanders
Conquer Faction Subfaction 3 has access to an additional four different Operations against other Conquer Factions:
Factory Conquer:
This is an invasion Operation for Planets containing Factories with the exception of Capitol Planets and involves a decent amount of land exchange. To get access to Factory Conquer your army must range from 3000-10000 bv and have 4 non-Infantry units (1 mek). The bv spread is 900 maximum. This operation involves Artillery support for both sides.
Faction-Unique Super Operation:
These Operations are unique for every faction and must take place on Factory Planets with the exception of Capitol Planets. To get access to your faction's unique operation - experiment! A general hint for everyone: No maximum bvs. Unit Requirements such as number of units involved and classes of units involved differ for every faction as well as different payouts, meta awards and pilot gains. The bv spread is 1000 maximum and the rewards get better the higher your game bv is. Supersize Me!
Kingslayer:
This is the one and only Capitol Planet Operation and involves a good amount of land exchange. To get access to Kingslayer your army must have 5000 bv minimum and must contain at least 5 meks, which may not weigh less than 40tons. There is no bv spread. Both sides get Artillery support and additionally, the Defender gets a good amount of conventional mines to place. Defenders have a bonus for gaining territory.
Bonus Operation
Factory Seizing: This is an operation similar to Factory Conquer with the following additions: it is AFR-only, double-blind and has a chance for deep deployment zones. The Defender also receives some conventional mines.
Following are the Operations for Non-Conquer Factions against Conquer Factions and their Counterparts. Non-Conquer Factions only have one operation per subfaction.
Non-Conquer Faction
Bandits
Non-Conquer Subfaction 1: These are the unwashed, rum-soaked dregs of the Periphery societies.
Skirmish:
This is an Operation similar to Patrol but without any land exchanged. The difference is that there is no requirement to field a mek so your army can be all vehicles. NOTE: no Subfaction Requirement.
Counter-Operation
Bandit Reprisal: This is an Operation similar to Patrol but without any land exchanged. NOTE: no Subfaction Requirement.
Pirates
Non-Conquer Subfaction 2: These buccaneers of the frontier are moderately more organized (i.e. sober occasionally) and field slightly better forces in battle. More than just braggarts, Pirates can be troublesome to defeat if they have a tactical advantage.
Maraude:
This is a raid Operation for Planets containing Factories. To get access to Maraude your army must range from 2000-7500 bv, must have 4 non-Infantry units (1 mek, 1 vehicle) and must not have a unit above 1700 bv. The bv spread is 800 maximum. Winning a Maraude Attack delays the factories, steals some components and a unit from the faction bays.
Counter-Operation
Pirate Rebuke: This operation is similar to Maraude but does not have the maximum unit bv restriction and instead of 1 mek and 1 vehicle, 2 meks must be used for the same old minimum amount of 4 non-Infantry units.
Pirate Lords
Non-Conquer Subfaction 3: These self-styled Lords of the Periphery have considerable forces at their disposal. Do not underestimate their abilities, for they have risen to the top of a brutal food chain by being ruthless, cunning and more dangerous than any others in their immediate vicinity.
Taurian Surprise
The unique Periphery Operation. These Super Operations are unique for every faction and must take place on Factory Planets with the exception of Capitol Planets.
Counter-Operation
Punitive Expedition: The counterpart to Taurian Surprise. See Super Operations above and experiment!
Rumors: Although unconfirmed, the Great House's Intels suspect Comstar to be responsible for a few devastating attacks on selected targets. Beware Blake's Wrath!
General Operations
Tutorial:
NOTE: Tutorials can only be launched against SOL
Armies legal for attacking tutorials have 1500-5000 total BV, have at least 2 meks and no more than 2 vehicles; Infantry is not allowed. Tutorials can only be launched against SOL, meks aren't lost in them and they only pay a few hundred cbills to the involved players. Only light and medium units may be used in Tutorial Operations.
Combat Simulation:
This is an advanced Tutorial for Faction Players but with no subfaction level restriction. It has some unique requirements though: Both players must spend Influence to play it, it has a maximum experience limit (currently 250 XP), and cannot be used by or against SOL. Other than that, it matches the Tutorial unit requirements and restrictions.
Arenas
Cruiser Tourney:
This is a free-for-all arena for single units up to 60tons and is double-blind. Everyone receives some mines and fled units may get scrapped, pushed off units may get salvaged. Expect bad payout and no campaign effects. One player each faction.
Destroyer Tourney:
This is a free-for-all arena for single units from 50 to 100tons and is double-blind. Everyone receives some mines and fled units may get scrapped, pushed off units may get salvaged. Expect bad payout and no campaign effects. One player each faction.
Team Operations
These are exclusively available for Conquer Faction Subfaction 2 (Regular Commanders) or Conquer Faction Subfaction 3 (Frontline Commanders):
Epic Capture:
This is a team operation similar to capture but requires 2 teams with 2 players each where both players of a team must match the original Capture requirements.
Siege:
This is a team operation mix of Factory Conquer and Strategical Invasion with bv per teammember ranging from 3000 to no limit. It cannot be used on Capitol Planets. It requires 2 teams with 2 players each.
IMPORTANT NOTES
1.) The Penalty for finishing Operations without enough bv destroyed was increased dramatically. On the other hand, Payouts for properly played games are better now.
2.) Units that are pushed off the map have a chance to get scrapped or salvaged. This is to discourage edge-camping.
3.) To discourage min-maxing, armies that are only legal for high bv-spread operations do not count towards Production. Building balanced armies is encouraged.
4.) Counterattacks are disabled.
5.) Operations for Conquer Factions have an ELO-spread. If the ELO difference between the opponents is too high, the operation cannot be launched.
6.) Victory Conditions "BV Ratio Percent" and "Destroy Enemy BV" are enabled for all operations and both must be met to trigger an automatic Victory.
