MegaMekNET (software)

MegaMekNET is an abandoned project that was the first engine to run the actual MegaMekNET server. Its name is closely attached to the first and historical MegaMek campaign server. Lead developer was Helge "McWizard" Richter who both developed and managed megamek.net for almost four years.
This namesake MegaMekNET software is not to be confused with the actual server that uses the MekWars engine, even though both entities shared the same origins.
Historical
The original MegaMekNET codebase was started in 1999. It was registered on SourceForge on July 2002. The replacement fork, MekWars, was started on October 2004. The project was marked as abandoned on 30th of January 2006.
