Blind attack
From MegaMekNET
Blind Attack is the action of attacking an active opponent while you are yourself active. It is the standard way to find and start a game in a MekWars server. The fact you don't know who you are attacking is explaining the blindness of the attack. Blind Attacks are often opposed to Attack from Reserve (also noted AFR or Arranged game).

|---|---|---|---|
- Being on active duty
- Have at least one army eligible for at least one operation.
- Another faction player must be active (with an eligible army for at least one operation your army is allowed to participate.)
- You must have enough resources (influence,c-bills,...) in order to attack. Needed resource are depending on operation definition.
- You must wait a given delay time in order to reach the frontline (that is designed to allow an already active player to blind attack you before you does.)
- An frontline report may appear on MekWars Main Channel tab describing the forces actually on active duty.
Front line report
Once you reach the frontline, a message indicates the active armies which Battle Value is matching yours. Depending the operation the allowed BV spread varies.
Intelligence reports the following attack options: Army 0 (2798 BV): Army 1 (4607 BV): Lyran Commonwealth(4) [Beachhead, Capture, Conquer, Pillage, Sabotage] Lyran Commonwealth(4) [Beachhead, Capture, Conquer, Pillage, Sabotage] Army 2 (3722 BV): Federated Suns(4) [Beachhead, Capture, Conquer, Hit'n'Run, Patrol, Pillage, Sabotage, Scout] Federated Suns(4) [Beachhead, Capture, Conquer, Pillage, Sabotage] Federated Suns(4) [Beachhead, Capture, Conquer, Pillage, Sabotage]
Changes
[!] A Federated Suns unit is headed to the front lines. You may attack it with Armies 0, 1 and 4. [Report]
Language abuse
As many technical words, "blind attack" is tarnished. It is possible that you heard of "someone blinding another one", this is of course a shortcut for "someone blind attacking another one".
