Please please pretty please with double sugar on top:

Can this enhanced chat box be optionalized some way? I'm not generally opposed to new stuff here, but the new setup lacks a lot of comfort.

You cannot copy paste.

You cannot resize the height and width.

You cannot mouse scroll. This becomes even more irritating because the up and down arrows in the scrollbar are defunct, so you have to actually use the scrollbar item which becomes hard to hit over the course of a game when it's height goes below one millimetre.

You cannot see at a quick glance who is connected to the host. I have talked to people who were not on the host anymore, because I missed their disconnection message.

If changes to the above issues are in the pipes already, ignore me. If some of the requested functionalty is already in place, I'd be happy to receive pointers on where to active it/why it's not working for me.

Additionally, is it possible to let the client recognize that something is being typed, and activate the chat window at that point? That would be very nifty.

I fixed the up and down arrows yesterday, and just added mousewheelscrolling to it.
Copy and paste are very hard to do, sorry.
I'm thinking if I can make the width user-configurable.
Also, the client already recognizes if you start typing something.
I also just made it resizable.

And I added the ability to paste stuff into it.
No copying from it, yet.

Awesome, looking forward to that, thanks.

About this typing recognition, is that in the version MMN is using at the moment? Because in that case it's not the working the way I meant to describe.

Bumping this because while most of what you mentioned works, resizing and typing recognition do not.

A further request: the fact that there are two "instances" of the line where you type, means that you will lose what you have written when the client changes between the map interface and any of the phase reports. At that point you have to retype everything, or wait for the other screen again to continue typing. This can be tedious, especially if your lines are usually longer than "gl hf" or "call it". If a solution could be found for this that'd be great.

any currently typed text in the new chatbox that has not yet been sent is saved for the report-phase chatbox, and vice-versa.

I'm sorry, did you just implement that, or is it already supposed to work that way? Because then I have to find out why it doesn't for me.

It's working for me in the currently on MMNet used release.
