 Post subject: Fire without Smoke?

I don't know whether this setting is supported by the engine, but methinks re-enabling fire without also bringing back smoke would be a good idea.
As smoke has been turned off to make games quicker, turning on fire would do the same as it can clear the map of cover without one having to bring everything down by firepower, and it will drive out camping infantry and vees (and maybe even meks with heatsink problems).
As for my own stake in this rule change: I've got an Ignis tank who hasn't burned anything down yet...

Unless someone codes this and submits a patch, it's not going to happen.
Our priorities lie with implementing the official rules.

Where there is smoke, there is fire.

One can't be enabled without the other also being in effect, unless someone wants to develop a patch to the current software that allows one to be turned on without the other.

Whether such an option, if available, would be implemented is a completely different question. That probably won't be answered unless someone expresses interest in coding it first.

Or, in simpler terms, what I imagine from BeeRockxs/Sporks/Torren/other coder's P.O.Vs:

"We are coders, you (presumably) aren't. In order for this to get implemented, you must either be willing to code it yourself, or convince us it's a good idea. If it's in the rules, that's a great start on convincing us."

What BeeRockxs and MF are saying, is that thus far, this is not doing so well on that "convincing" thing.
